The cage is fixed from only one side. Second wheel is fixed firmly to the bridge. The escape wheel pinion moves within it and rotates the whole cage. There are teeth on the outer part of cage. With these teeth the cage interacts with the wheel train. The balance wheel has an enlarged axle, and the cap jewel has been placed co-axially with the bridge surface to provide for easier maintenance.
